G33k P0p’s Best Games of 2015

2015 has been a great year for both Console, PC and mobile gaming alike, so today we’re counting down the best 10 games that grabbed our attention over this year.

  1. Nuclear Throne

Nuclear Throne is one of those rare gems that fails to disappoint. With its full release on Steam on December 5th, it has had some amazing feedback due to its fun top-down shooter style and cartoon-ish graphical style.

  1. The Crew: Wild Run

While this is not really a game, The Crew: Wild Run has given a new lease of life to Ubisoft’s game The Crew. It has stunning new graphics, AI, and much more which has definitely improved the original game. My review of this can be found here.

  1. Black Mesa

Despite that it has been out as ‘Early Access’ for a few years, its Steam release on May 7th opened up the game to the masses. Not only are the gameplay, soundtrack, atmosphere and graphics amazing, the development team are frequently bringing out updates to improve the game even more. You can read my full review of the game here.

  1. Rocket League

Rocket League is really a piece of genius. Combining teamwork, fun gameplay and great graphics this bizarre football/racing hybrid deserves a place on this list. A great way to spend endless hours with friends. For our review of this click here .

  1. Mortal Kombat X

Mortal Kombat X is a beautifully brutal fighting game which has brought a new lease of life to the good old Mortal Kombat franchise. It’s new graphics look great and deliver good visuals when you’re pulling people’s heads off. Plus it had an excellent version of the game released on IOS and Android that really captures the essence of the game.

  1. Destiny: The Taken King

While this is another one of Destiny’s endless stream of DLCs, this particular one is almost like a new game, which new missions, finally a good story, new graphics, subclasses and more. This definitely improves on the story massively, as the original story was never anything special.

  1. Grand Theft Auto V (PC)

The Long awaited release of GTA V on PC was finally release in April, and while the game is already out for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, the PC has allowed a larger level of community interaction, especially with Mods and Custom Maps.

  1. Call of Duty: Black Ops III

BO3 is yet another addition to the (often criticized) Black Ops series, yet it does not disappoint. The game delivers great visuals, great gameplay and lots of fun multiplayer features. (Despite the fact that there is no split-screen!)

  1. Star Wars: Battlefront

Like many others, the team here at G33k P0p have been long-awaiting a new Star Wars Battlefront Game, and what better time to release it than just weeks ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens! To put it simply, great graphics, immersive gameplay and excellent multiplayer. A worthy follow up to the PS2 classic.

  1. Fallout 4

Fallout 4 definitely made headlines this year. It has been long-awaited by many Fallout fans, the release date in November saw massive praise by critics and players alike, and this praise was well deserved. The story of Fallout 4 is amazing, as are the graphics and open-world features. Fallout 4 definitely deserves its place as G33k P0p’s game of the year 2015!
